Sukanta Das
Sukanta Das is a contemporary Indian artist, trained (B.V.A., Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, 1996) in the classical Bengal tradition. Working in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, he explores the human body's silent interdependence with nature, rendering devotional and mythological themes — particularly Hindu deities and celestial love — through soft hues and mythic symbolism. His signature fusion blends Mughal-inspired aesthetics with modern sensibility, giving each canvas an "ethereal dance" of figure and landscape. Recognised with an Honourable Mention from the Avantika Art Society (2003) and featured in "108 Portraits of Indian Modern and Contemporary Art," his works are held in collections including Delhi Airport Terminal 1.
