Amol Pawar

Contemporary Abstract Artist

Amol Pawar

Amol Pawar is a contemporary Indian artist born in 1983 in Maharashtra, raised in a farming family with early exposure to folk forms like Rangoli and Mehndi. He earned his G.D. in Applied Art from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, and has since exhibited in over 40 shows across India, London, Warsaw, Singapore, and New York.

His paintings move between the figurative and the abstract, rendered in earthy palettes of deep reds, charcoal blacks, and gold, where contrasting dark and light give his surfaces volume and depth. Working in mixed media, he layers texture, flowing calligraphy, temple line-drawings, numerals, and botanical motifs into richly worked compositions.

Drawing on childhood memory, village life, and mythology, his canvases return often to Shakti as a symbol of enduring love, and to wandering sadhus as figures of spiritual guidance, alongside fierce animal forms. Each work unfolds as a personal narrative, inviting viewers into a world where devotion, strength, and impermanence quietly coexist.
