Shruthi Challani

Shruthi Challani's path to becoming an artist began almost by accident — sitting beside her daughter at a canvas, guiding her first brushstrokes, she found something stirring in herself that she hadn't expected. What started as a parent's exercise in patience became a rediscovery of her own imagination, and she began painting with an intensity that soon outgrew casual practice. Working her way through countless canvases in acrylic, she gravitated toward realism, then pushed further, studying the Old Masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods to understand how light, shadow, and layered glazing could give a painting its quiet emotional weight.

That self-taught rigor now defines her work: oil portraits built up patiently through underpainting and fine detailing, alongside abstract and texture pieces drawn from landscapes and the sea.
