Sanjay Tikkal
Sanjay Tikkal is an Indian abstract landscape painter who completed his Diploma in Painting with First Class in 2003. He began his career working in portraits and realistic landscapes before evolving into abstraction, drawing inspiration from the scenic terrains of Madhya Pradesh and the Konkan region of Maharashtra.
For Tikkal, painting is a spiritual dialogue with nature. He describes his process as an emotional and soulful conversation that unfolds through fluid colours and forms on canvas. Born into a Dhangar community with a heritage of weaving, he channels this ancestral craft into his art, exploring the visual relationship between thread, texture, colour, and shape as energy that moves from depth to surface.
His signature works, including the "Mindscape" series, "Ecstasy," and "Golden Roots," showcase a masterful command of colour, blending earthy tones with vibrant pinks, reds, and oranges. Tikkal's paintings have been exhibited widely and are held in private collections across India and abroad.
