Ratikanta Moharana

Ratikanta Moharana is a Pattachitra artist from Puri, Odisha, one of the spiritual centers of this centuries-old folk art tradition rooted in the worship of Lord Jagannath. Working in the classical Pattachitra style, he creates intricate devotional paintings on tussar silk and traditional cloth canvas, using natural pigments and the fine, flowing linework the form is known for. His repertoire spans iconic themes central to Odia devotional art — the sacred trinity of Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra; the divine pair Radha and Krishna; and richly detailed depictions of Ganesha and other deities.
