While classical Kalamkari is hand-painted on cloth with natural dyes and a bamboo pen, this approach by artist Muneiah Singiri layers acrylics with traditional freehand technique on canvas, preserving the intricate mythological narratives and fine linework of the original craft while gaining richer colour, durability, and contemporary appeal. Drawing on over four decades of mastery, each canvas depicts scenes from epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, bridging heritage and modernity, and bringing this authentic Andhra Pradesh art form into today's homes.
